JAKARTA – Generasi Muda kerap menjadi sasaran utama dalam peredaran narkoba. Mental dan kuatnya rasa ingin tahu disinyalir menjadi penyebab generasi muda rawan menjadi sasaran peredaran narkoba.
Direktur Diseminasi Informasi Deputi Bidang Pencegahan Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) Gun Gun Siswandi mengatakan, faktor tersebut menyebabkan para pengedar narkoba dengan mudah menawarkan narkoba kepada remaja.
“Generasi muda sangat rentan terhadap penyalahgunaan narkoba, karena pada masa ini emosi mereka masih labil dan rasa inginnya tahunya cukup tinggi,” kata Gun Gun Siswandi dalam acara focus group discussion (FGD) bersama siswa SMK Bina Sarana Informatika, Bintaro, Jakarta, Minggu (9/11/2014).
Menurutnya, persoalan itu bisa dihindari jika ada kepedulian dari orang yang memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter remaja. Dia berpendapat, dengan modal karakter yang kuat, seorang remaja akan mampu memilih mana yang positif dan negatif untuk dirinya.
“Peran guru dan orangtua sangat penting dalam membentuk karakter anak, sehingga dapat menolak ajakan untuk ikut-ikutan menggunakan narkoba,” terangnya.
Maka itu, disarankan, baik guru mapun orangtua harus memiliki pengetahuan tentang permasalahan narkoba. Harapannya adalah dapat memberikan pemahaman kepada para remaja untuk menjauhi narkoba.
“Jadi kalau ada pertanyaan seputar narkoba, guru dapat memberikan jawaban. Selain itu, BNN juga siap memberikan informasi apapun seputar permasalahan narkoba kepada guru,” tukasnya.
